Duty Manager
Responsibility
The Duty Manager (‘DM’) is responsible for the operation of Haddington House across all departments with specific, direct oversight for: the rooms team (two days per week); the F&B team (two days per week).
Core Skillset
Third level hospitality degree, preferably from Shannon College of Hotel Management or TUD
Proven track record in F&B, up to Managerial level, and rounded general hotel departmental experience
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and effective leadership qualities
Ability to remain calm and in control during busy periods
Maintain a professional image at all times through appearance and demeanour
Proficient in the use of all Microsoft applications
Adaptable to manage multitude scenarios across all departments
High Level Tasks
Responsible for the management and continued progression of the front desk team, housekeeping team and maintenance team, two days per week
Responsible for the management and leadership of the F&B services, across our Oliveto restaurant, Parlour rooms and Garden, two days per week
Ensure complete adherence to HH procedures and policies and ensure all staff comply with same
Work closely with the rooms team and F&B team to ensure strong communication throughout each day
To support the front desk team with guest arrivals and guest check-outs
To liaise with the housekeeping team regarding rooming requirements for the day/special guest requests/late check-out etc.
Oversee the room allocation accordingly, working closely with the front desk team
Liaise with Assistant GM in relation to any issues that may arise within the overall rooms team
To lead service, hands-on approach, across our F&B offerings, particularly on days when our F&B Director and/or F&B Manager are off duty
To support service, at key pinch points, when the F&B Director or F&B Manager are present but need ‘short bursts’ of assistance
Liaise with the F&B Director in relation to any issues that may arise within the F&B team
To work closely with maintenance and housekeeping to ensure all rooms and public spaces are maintained to the highest of standards
To ensure hotel spaces are maintained in their best visual condition and safety checks are undertaken ref: fire/blockages
To act as the bridge between all departments, especially when the Assistant GM is off site
To engage with the wider HH teams in finding opportunities to ‘surprise and delight’ our guests whenever possible
To anticipate guests needs and ensure that service is provided to surpass their expectations
Job Requirements
Located in Haddington House in Dún Laoghaire
Scheduled week is Mon-Sun
Roster is four days on / three days off
Working shift is 11am to 10pm (4 x 11 hour shifts, ie. 44 hours per week)
Six month probation period
