Haddington Garden

Our Vision

Our Garden café will offer spectacular views across Dún Laoghaire Harbour, the East Pier and Dublin Bay beyond. It will be a place for our community and guests to meet friends and enjoy a unique dining experience overlooking the Victorian lawns of Haddington House.

We are working up the food ethos behind this new venture, and our focus will be on smaller plates of locally-sourced, quality ingredients, designed to savour and share. The café will be open year-round with unrivalled views of the sea, offering a cosy and dramatic dining experience in the winter, and a sun-filled alfresco one in the summer. We are incredibly excited that finally, we can utilise this wonderful garden space and share it with our customers and House guests. While Covid-19 has slowed our progress somewhat, we will shortly announce the start date for construction, and in the meantime, please enjoy a sneak peek at how the garden cafe will look when completed.

Entrance to the Garden will be through the Terrace railings and across the lawn. On fine days, there will be seating just outside the glass floor to ceiling walls, so guests can enjoy the fresh sea air and sunshine.

In the evening, the café will become a warm oasis inside looking out to uninterrupted views stretching out across the Bay.

Strolling along Adelaide Street towards Haddington Terrace you would be forgiven for not noticing our Garden café, as the sedum roof mirrors nature’s horizon line and the glazing magnifies the sea beyond.

Stepping out of Haddington House, flanked by olive trees, the view of The Garden, the pier and across the sea will bring nature closer and give a sense of a calm retreat away from guests busy lives.
